Now that the dust has settled slightly and everyone is aware of the situation that the club finds itself in, I would just like to clarify a few discussion items and offer some further information. As per the previous post the club held its AGM on Tuesday evening with the intention of forming the committee to take us forward into season 2021. Unfortunately we were unable to form the Executive section of the committee which ultimately did not allow us to move forward and even begin to attempt to fill the other 16 operational committee positions.
The Roles of President, Vice President and Club Secretary could be filled but the position of Club Treasurer remained vacant and it was at that point that the meeting was postponed and a new date set.
In order for the club to move forward the above position needs to be filled ASAP, so if anybody is interested or knows an individual who may be interested please have them contact me via the contact details on the club's website.
However, filling this single position doesn't fix the ongoing issue, for a number of years now the club has been scraping through with a very small and hardworking committee that consists of members holding more than 1 role. This situation is not viable and certainly not sustainable, especially since Covid has changed our landscape considerably. The Club needs an influx of new members to fill positions on our committee and help us move forward. Shortly there will be a media release that will list all of the committee roles that need to be filled in the upcoming special AGM. Yes, there are current committee members that have expressed an interest in continuing in their existing roles, however as we have stated, ALL roles will be made vacant again at the upcoming AGM. So please if you are interested and can spare a few hours a week, get in contact and we can discuss things. In addition to these official committee positions, a number of additional people are required to support each role.
This club offers so much to so many people, it would be huge loss to the Yass community if we cannot find enough volunteers to help us form a sustainable committee.
We have an amazing group of players, parents, coaches, managers and committee members at this club but at the moment we just need a little bit of help to keep going.
