U12 Yass Spiders 1 v U12 Yass Redbacks 1
The Yass Soldiers Club sponsored local U12 Derby was fought out on a crisp afternoon in Yass. The Spiders started the game well, attacking the ball at every opportunity, this led to several mini breaks through the midfield and then Cameron V and Jakob up front. Right from the beginning it was a very even game. The Spiders continued to pressure the Redbacks goal, and eventually a cross made its way to the feet of Eleanor F, who made no mistake and slotted it cleanly past the keeper. Shortly after the Redback had a quick break that ended in a nice shot squeezed past the goalie for a 1 all scoreline, for the rest of the first half and all of the second half it was a very tight tussle, with any attacks being quickly shut down by the opposing team.
The Spiders battled on well with many opportunities, but no conversions leaving a 1 all scoreline at the finish of the game. From the coaches perspective this was one of the best team games they have played all year, every player gave 110% today and gave their all for this great result.
